Snowy haiku

It's Wednesday again, and rather than whine and complain about things over which I really have no control, here are some haiku I wrote about the foot of snow that fell here in South Jersey last week...

Snow weighs down branches
Embracing like a lover
Bending, not breaking

Sunshine snow sparkle
Glittering under bright sky
Diamond droplets fall

Daylight stays longer
Sun brings light but not yet warmth
Oh come soon sweet spring

Overburdened spruce
Under crushing weight of snow
Ground gives branches rest

Rat-a-tat-tatting
On metal chimney cover
Woodpecker begging

Fresh dusting of snow
Covers man-made ugliness
Temporarily
.
